Both Mother and Father were active artists. Mother had the most natural talent working with ease in painting, wood-carving, rug-pulling and stained glass design. But Father had so much active interest – taking us as kids to the St.Louis and Montreal Art Museims, collecting art books by French and Canadian Impressionist artists, going to life drawing schools where Father refined his charcoal and chalk rendering skill with subtle colorings.
